Hongik juniors Kim Ji-Eun, Park, Hey-Min and Lee, Ji-Sol from College of Design & Arts, School of Design Convergence won Winner Prize in 2022 Korean Designer Portfolio Contest ‘Wake Up Your Sleeping Works’.

The 2022 Korean Designer Portfolio Contest ‘Waking Up Your Sleeping Works’ is a design award hosted by PRESENT, a document-based communication platform.

The winning entry ‘Mungmong’ is a service for pet owners who dream of a happy life of elderly dog . ‘Mungmong’ is a service that provides systematic dog care plans and information to pet owners using mobile applications and smartwatches to solve the difficulties of finding and practicing information related to elderly dog care.

조형대학 디자인컨버전스학부 3학년 김지은, 박혜민, 이지솔 학생 (지도교수 조윤주)이 2022 대한민국 디자이너 포트폴리오 공모전 <잠들어 있는 너의 작품을 깨워>에서 최우수상을 수상했습니다.

2022 대한민국 디자이너 포트폴리오 공모전 <잠들어 있는 너의 작품을 깨워>는 문서 기반 커뮤니케이션 플랫폼인 PRESENT에서 주최한 디자인 어워드입니다.

수상작인 ‘멍몽(멍夢)’은 노령견의 행복한 노후를 꿈꾸는 반려 구성원을 위한 서비스입니다. 서비스 이름인 ‘멍몽’은 의성어 ‘멍’과 한자 ‘꿈 몽(夢)’ 합친 단어로 노령견과 반려인이 꿈꾸는 노후를 만들어가자는 의미를 담고 있습니다. ‘멍몽’은 노령견 케어와 관련된 정보들을 찾고 실천하는데 겪는 어려움을 해소할 수 있도록 모바일 어플리케이션과 스마트워치를 이용해 반려 구성원에게 체계적인 노견 케어 플랜과 정보를 제공하는 서비스입니다.

Hongik University College of Design & Arts receives Winner Prize in 2022 ASIA DESIGN PRIZE

Hongik seniors Yang, Eun-Jung and Lee, Min-Hui(Design Convergence) and Kang, Ye-Mi(Digital Media Design) (Supervisor Cho, Yoon-Ju) from College of Design & Arts won honorable Winner Prize in 2022 ASIA DESIGN PRIZE communication section.

ASIA DESIGN PRIZE is an international design contest being also the biggest design award in Asia. Total of 1,830 design works from 29 countries worldwide have been entered in this year’s ASIA DESIGN PRIZE.

The winning entry ‘GOT IT’ is a digital service that supports communication and memory sharing among family members. The name ‘GOT IT’ is an abbreviation of ‘linking family’ in Korean, and it is also a double entendre that connotes people ‘got it’ about one another. It uses smartwatch and mobile application to promote tight family bond in a progressively individualistic society.

School of Design Convergence – College of Design & Arts receives Fourth Prize in HKASA (Hyundai Kia Automotive Suppliers Association) Future Mobility Industry Idea Contest

Seniors Kim, Yeong-Seo and Kim, Hye-Won (Supervisor Cho, Yoon-Joo) from School of Design Convergence – College of Design & Arts won Fourth Prize in HKASA Future Mobility Industry Idea Contest.

The prize-winning entry ‘vivi’ is a mobility service that seeks to improve lives of dementia patients and their family in graying society. It is a service platform combined with mobility to help patients remember their past and enjoy living the present by ‘staying healthy, traveling, and being with family’.

Title of Work: A reminding mobility service that aids dementia patients’ recollection in 2050

School of Film & Animation graduation project now in theater ‘Girl with the Camera’ poster / presented by distributor Gram Films Inc.

School of Film & Animation senior project <Girl with the Camera> (Director: Ahn, Hee-Soo, Supervisor: Lee, Chan-Ho) hits theater on January 20.

The documentary film <Girl with the Camera> had been invited to 46th Seoul Independent Film Festival ‘New Choice’ section and elicited sympathy and favorable reviews from the audience.

<Girl with the Camera> is a personal documentary of seven people who are lost between ‘how others view them’ and ‘how they view themselves’ and take on a journey to find ‘the true self.’ A self-reflecting film about appearance-obsessed modern society, Director Ahn, Hee-Soo led a meticulous storyline which embodies common ‘ego gap’ problems the early and mid-twenty cast experienced and the societal frame.

<Girl with the Camera> will be screened from January 20 in CGV Art House, Lotte Cinema Arte, Megabox, Busan Cinema Center, Mokpo Cinema Lounge M.

Seniors So, Geu-Rin(Communication Design major) and Hwang, Ji-Woo(Digital Media Design major) (Supervisor Kang, Min-Jeong) from School of Design Convergence – College of Design & Arts won Third Prize in science section in JEI(Jaeneung Education Institute) History & Science Education Contents Contest.

Contest entry ‘Science study in my room’ provides science lesson that encourages scientific curiosity and thinking skills in real and imaginary room setting. It intends to change people’s perspective, that science is fun and easy.

School of Design Convergence – College of Design & Arts receives Prize in Ministry of the Interior and Safety ‘MZ Generation’s Challenge – Innovative Idea Contest’

Digital Media Design major Park, Soo-Jeong and Ahn, Ji-Hyun(Team: BangBangKokKok, Supervisor: Kang, Min-Jeong) won Third Prize with their entry ‘Nadeuri’ in ‘MZ Generation’s Challenge – Innovative Idea Contest’ 4th task which requires a solution to invigorate local tourism using digital technology, cultural contents, or other creative approach.

‘Nadeuri’ is a local tourism service built on characteristics and opinions of MZ Generation and foreigners who favor travel to Korea, as well as Korean culture consumption behavior. It combines traditional trends and AR technology to provide a platform where people can enjoy and share local Korean travel experience.

School of Design Convergence – College of Design & Arts senior project ‘Say hello to people of the world’ receives Platinum Award in 2021 Spark Design Awards

Oh, Soo-Bin(Class of 2022) from School of Design Convergence – Hongik University College of Design & Arts received Platinum(Grand Prize) in 2021 Spark Design Awards with her 2021 senior project <’Say hello to people of the world’>(Supervisor: Kim, Jong-Min).

Spark Awards is a renowned international design competition in America which stands alongside American IDEA, German Red Dot and iF. It is a reputable contest which offers valuable opportunity for professional designers and design major to verify their talents.

The prize-winning entry ‘Say hello to people of the world’ is a children’s coloring book that seeks to educate cultural diversity and racial equality. Characters representing each country greet by waving their hands, delivering a message that ‘people across the globe have the same palm color and that we are all the same.’

School of Design Convergence – College of Design & Arts receives Societal Problem Resolver(Seoul Mayor Award) in 2021 Seoul Human City Design Workshop

School of Design Convergence – College of Design & Arts team were awarded honorable grand prize Societal Problem Resolver(Seoul Mayor Award) in 2021 Human City Design Workshop which is hosted by Seoul Metropolitan Government and organized by Seoul Design Foundation and Korean Federation of Design Association.

This workshop commenced with the topic of ‘designing a sustainable city where humans and environment cohabit.’ 31 teams from 26 universities, 160 students in total presented various design projects and 17 teams were selected. Online public forum will be held live on Youtube on December 3rd 2pm, open for any citizen wishing to participate.

Two teams from School of Design Convergence – Hongik University College of Design & Arts won honorable prizes in 2021 KSDS Fall International Conference(DSUS) held on November 13th 2021. Team 2 seized Second Prize and Team 1 grasped Third Prize.

KSDS Fall International Conference(DSUS) is an academic conference in which selectively nominated research studies are presented and awarded.

Second-prize entry ‘Familink’ is a mobile application that aims to secure family bond and regular health care through data-sharing service among family members for quicker health goal achievement.

Second-prize winning ‘Mobile application for Generation Z to view Seoul Arts Center’s musicals online’ is an application service that uses metaverse platform to provide unprecedented reciprocal musical experience. Viewers can watch musical online and even communicate with the cast.

Third-prize entry ‘Process-oriented customized jogging coaching service’ is a personalized coaching that encourages joggers to enjoy jogging as a daily routine and assists them with proper jogging.

Third-prize entry ‘AR-based interactive study service for elementary school children – Jibi’ uses AR contents to provide interactive, integrated study for elementary school children who are weary of unilateral education.
