Plastics

Eunji Choi, Chaeyoung Hong

Plastic chairs are constantly waiting for people at the corner of the street. The humans he loves just stay for a while and leave. ‘Plastics’ is a project based on the imagination that chairs no longer wait still and chose to approach humans first. They naturally approach humans’ daily lives with one company as a medium. They replicate and process themselves countless times so that humans can like them and distribute them to the human world. ‘Plastics’ is operated solely by the desire of chairs to be with humans. Through branding, product and package design, and promotion photo and video work, a virtual company called ‘Plastics’ was visually implemented.

Futurastic is a fashion show made of plastic chairs at convenience stores. Unpolished plastic chairs are scattered all over the street, and no one cares about them. Every time I see a chair, I remember the characters sitting in plastic chairs in convenience stores in the 2000s, and the memories of eating ice cream that my mother bought me when I was a child are similar to those of the past. I organized a fashion show to show the future in a convenience store chair that makes it difficult to feel the newness of the future. Using projection mapping to make chair costumes, the future of an uncertain and new unknown world is expressed with vivid colors and bold patterns. The making film, model interview, runway, and designer interview are included in a video to show the preparation and completion of the show.
