<Forever Apartment> is a satirical game about Seoul’s history of reckless development. In Korea, especially in Seoul, apartments form literal forests. And I think it’s because development in Korea happened too quickly. It was also too heavily focused on Seoul alone. People look at our history and say it’s ‘the Miracle of Han River’. But I think it did not proceed under the democratic process and had its share of flaws. So for my thesis project, I wanted to express my feelings and thoughts on this matter by making a video game. It’s an FPS game where you play as a construction/demolition worker who has to demolish buildings in order to build new ones. Throughout the game, you can have conversations with your son, spouse, and your boss. It is made with a Godot engine for my thesis project and its playtime is about 10 to 15 minutes. It supports Windows in both 32 and 64 bit.
