Design Art University where artistic sense and convergence technology meet

Welcome to Hongik University College of Design & Arts. We have produced outstanding individuals by introducing to a leading curriculum of design, image, and animation since 1991 when the college was founded. About 1,500 students are in attendance at the School of Design Convergence and School of Film&Animation in this cradle of talented individuals.

The College of Design & Arts possesses an educational environment which was newly prepared with creative convergence spaces such as the Art Hall, Film Studio, Maker Space, all centering around a newly founded Sejong Hall in 2015. The same innovation also has made an effort in introducing a leading curriculum and school system.

Based on a characterization strategy of designs, creative fields and cooperation of the excellent faculty, the College of Design & Arts hopes to contribute to the development of our society’s convergence of industry and design, art and culture by setting a goal of fostering designers and artists who will lead the convergence education and the 4th industrial revolution. We, all faculty and administrative support members of College of Design & Arts, promise to practice this persistent endeavor and innovate for our students’ education and support their careers.

  • 2019

    School of Design Convergence was selected as excellent
    major support business of university innovation business.

  • 2018

    Department of Design Innovation & Technology was opened at graduate school

  • 2018

    Product Design, Communication Design, Digital Media Design were
    integrated to School of Design Convergence, Film and Animation
    major was reorganized to School of Film & Animation

  • 2016

    Film major and Animation major were integrated

  • 2015

    Sejong Hall was completed

  • 2005

    Hongik Art Hall was completed

  • 2004

    School of Design & Arts was reorganized to School of Design and Film, and its concentrations were reorganized to Product Design, Communication Design, Digital Media Design, Film Movie, Animation major

  • 2002

    Film studio for film and animation was completed

  • 1991

    March College of Design & Arts founded
